Epoch 282

Statistics for Epoch 282

Expected number of blocks : 5.02

Block Allocated : 4

Blocks Produced : 4

Luck* : 80%

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 3 🙁

The Epoch has proceeded smoothly and we produced the blocks we were allocated (four) and our lean streak continues as it looks like we will be allocated three blocks in the coming epoch which is again below the expected five. Nothing we can do this is random but we are on the bad side of this random allocation at the moment.

It looks like smart contracts are coming at the end of the month and there will be upgrades needed by us as well as there will be a new cardano node software released, probably 1.40.0 to facilitate the running of contracts. We have not been involved in the limited testing yet so we don’t know what the means regarding the resources on our servers but we will be monitoring and can upgrade them if needed. A lot of the tooling needed to write smart contracts will be released weeks after smart contracts can be run so we expect a few Dapps initially and then as the weeks progress and the tooling improves there will be a lot more released.

Again just a reminder that our website will be down for a few weeks at the end of August as we are moving locations and it will take time to get up and running again. This is ONLY our website, our cardano nodes will be working without any interruptions. We will post in telegram our weekly updates and will try and get the website address to redirect somewhere sensible while out of action.

We have one new delegator so welcome to you and as usual many thanks to all who continue to trust us with their stake of ADA. So until the end of the next epoch where we return with a small update we hope you have a great five days!

* – Blocks are allocated randomly each epoch based upon total stake a pool has just like a lottery. Luck refers to how many blocks were allocated to a pool against the expected blocks that the pools should produce. Some epochs (5 day periods) you will be allocated more blocks and some less but over time it should even out
