Statistics for Epoch 266
Expected number of blocks : 5.5
Block Allocated : 6
Blocks Produced : 6
Luck* : 109%
Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 3
A good epoch will all the allocated blocks produced. For the next epoch we have an expectation that we will get three blocks against an expected five and a half so this is not so good but is how the system works and we have to roll with it.
Not too much happened this epoch. There was some planned maintenance in the data centre where our VPS (Virtual Private Servers) are located so we just had to ensure that this time did not clash with any of the blocks we had allocated (it didn’t). We have a backup location we could have swapped to if necessary to ensure there was no disruption to the service if needed.
Other than that we await the P2P testnet and the Alonzo testnet to start up which it should do in the next few weeks. There is so much to come for Cardano in 2021, it seems it will be an amazing year.
We will be back with a short update at the end of the
* – Blocks are allocated randomly each epoch based upon total stake a pool has just like a lottery. Luck refers to how many blocks were allocated to a pool against the expected blocks that the pools should produce. Some epochs (5 day periods) you will be allocated more blocks and some less but over time it should even out.
