Epoch 264

Statistics for Epoch 264

Expected number of blocks : 5.5

Block Allocated : 7

Blocks Produced : 7

Luck* : 127%

Blocks Predicted for the Next Epoch: 8

Another quiet epoch but we made all the blocks allocated to us and we have a healthy eight blocks for the next epoch based on expectation of five and a half which is always nice as that means we get some extra rewards for the delegators (above 5%).

Not much to report from our side, the nodes are ticking along nicely. We have three computers running online, two relays located in Germany and the USA and a block producer located in Germany and we have recently upgraded the configuration of the block producer node and perhaps with Alonzo (Smart Contract era) we may have to upgrade all the machines dependant on the load we start seeing. We are looking forward to the Alonzo testnet and seeing how this looks and for those interested there is a Plutus programming course going on at the moment. We can’ wait until later in the year to see what people can build on the Cardano blockchain, it will be super exciting.

We have lost one delegator and gained one this epoch so welcome to our newcomer and we hope you are happy with us and continued thanks to all those who continue to stake with us. We are not a huge pool or have multiple pools, we just want to support the network and it’s security and we believe in the technology and it’s promise to help those with no economic identity. No matter how large the pool gets we will never start up multiple pools and fees will never increase. OK that’s enough of that, have a great next five days (an epoch in Cardano) and we will post a short update here at the end of the next epoch.

* – Blocks are allocated randomly each epoch based upon total stake a pool has just like a lottery. Luck refers to how many blocks were allocated to a pool against the expected blocks that the pools should produce. Some epochs (5 day periods) you will be allocated more blocks and some less but over time it should even out.
